One reason why bandage dresses have come back is the obsession with the 2000s fashion. Bandage dresses were huge in the 2000s, when clubbing culture was huge. These dresses were the ultimate clubbing dress; they are flattering and just formal enough for a night out but not over the top.
Another reason why these dresses are regaining popularity is because of how flattering they are. These dresses accentuate your figure, making people feel and look good. They are also extremely comfortable, making them easy for any event.
We have seen bandage dresses on many celebrities, including Kaia Gerber, Hailey Bieber, Alix Earle and Leah Kateb.
Gerber wore a Herve Leger white maxi bandage dress to the Toronto Film Festival in 2024 with white heels. Bieber wore a Yves Saint Laurent bandage dress with cut outs to the 2025 Fashion Trust U.S. Awards. Earle wore a bandage dress with small cutouts to the 2024 CDFA Fashion Awards in New York City.
At Coachella, Kateb, a Love Island USA Season 6 star, was seen in a light blue bandage dress. She wore this during REVOLVE fest. Her look was identified as a piece in the Herve Leger Pre-Fall 2026 collection.

The Trend is Expanding
The bandage dress trend is no longer just about dresses. House of CB is now selling bandage tops, which are perfect for a fun night out with your friends. Bershka had bandage tube tops in stores, providing another fun option for the bandage trend.
There are also bandage skirts, the most notable being from Herve Leger. Herve Leger sells bandage tops as well.
How to Style a Bandage Dress
One great aspect of bandage dresses is how versatile they are. Not only is there a wide variety of bandage dresses (mini, midi, maxi, neutral, bright, halter, etc.), but they also can be dressed up and down, making them perfect for any social event on your calendar.
For a more formal occasion, bandage dresses can be paired with a pair of heels and minimal jewelry. This can apply to both short and long bandage dresses. Many celebrities have paired bandage dresses with little to no jewelry.
Another way to style a bandage dress for a formal occasion is with a chunky necklace or earrings. This works best with a solid colored bandage dress. By pairing this simple dress with chunky accessories, it shifts the focal point away from the dress (but not entirely) and towards the accessories. So, this can be used for when you have a statement piece you want to show off.
If you want to make the look less formal, try pairing the bandage dress with a leather jacket to break up the silhouette. This gives the look a more relaxed vibe while simultaneously making your look more unique.
For a summer night out, you could pair a bandage dress with a pair of wedges. However, these wedges should not be traditional sandals — they should be more like the 2000s wedges. With a fun color dress or shoes, these dresses can be styled to meet any summer needs.
Now, this part is not dresses, but it is still the bandage trend.
If you want to style a bandage top, you can pair it with a black skirt or pair of jeans. A black bandage top with your favorite pair of low rise jeans would be super cute for hanging out with friends or going out to dinner.
If you want to style a bandage skirt, you can either stick to the tight silhouette and wear a tight top or you could wear a looser top to break up the tight fit. These skirts, especially the midi skirts, look great with a pair of heels and a clutch.

Opinions
I personally love the bandage dress trend. I wore bandage dresses to junior and senior prom, senior winter formal and now my first sorority date party and formal in college. I am also wearing a bandage dress to return to The Cinderella Ball (debutante charitable ball that I participated in last summer) as Cinderella. I always feel so confident in these dresses, and I think that they are so pretty.
One thing that I love about these dresses is how versatile they are. I can continue to rewear my prom dress for years to come because they can be styled in different ways and do not necessarily look like a prom dress. For example, one of my prom dresses was navy, so I can dress it up with a pair of heels and jewelry. I can also dress it down with a pair of flats or wedge sandals and minimal accessories.
My favorite part of bandage dresses is how comfortable they are. I never feel like I am wearing a dress, it feels super comfortable and easy to move in. This was perfect for prom, where I was dancing all night, and for my sorority date parties, where I have to walk and change locations a lot.

Whether you are ready to join into the bandage dress trend or you are still hesitant, there are different bandage options for everyone. These dresses were iconic in the 2000s and have the potential to be a hallmark of 2020s fashion as well. However, the revival of old trends, including bandage dresses, is only going to increase from here on out.
