Lip balms are, and always will be, my holy grail. My first proper introduction to makeup(as is the case with many other teenage girls), a good and moisturizing lip balm can work wonders. But these days, a high-quality lip balm can be confused with a high price point and finding one that works for you and your needs in an affordable range can be difficult. So look no further as these are the best lip balms I have ever purchased, and will definitely be purchasing them again.
note: please check lip balm ingredients before purchasing in case any of these lip balms contain irritants for your particular skin type.
1. Vaseline Lip therapy
Shop here: Vaseline® Lip Therapy® Rosy Mini
Vaseline Lip Therapy is a brand of hydrating and nourishing lip balms created to protect and relieve dry, chapped lips. The formula contains Vaseline petroleum jelly, which creates a protective barrier on the lips to lock in moisture and prevent moisture loss. This helps to keep lips soft, smooth, and healthy-looking, all for 2 dollars.
I've been using these lip balms since I was 8 and they have never disappointed me. They smell amazing, last easily over 10 hours, and feel hydrating on the lips. They instantly heal chapped and dry lips and keep them looking plump and smooth 24/7.A must-have!
2. Nivea Lip balms
Shop here: Nivea Lip Care
Another cult classic and for good reason, these Nivea lip balms have my heart due to their versatility in longevity, shade range and hydration. Collecting every single lip balm Nivea offered was a hobby I took very seriously, but looking back, these lip balms actually stand the test of time. They give off amazing colour payoff and look natural and glowy on the lips.
They smell amazing and last for 5 hours, leaving the lips feeling hydrated and supple. I would personally recommend the cherry and strawberry shine as they give my lips and cheeks the most natural tint and shine. The lip balm typically retails for around 3-4 dollars and often comes in dual packs.
3. Carmex lip balm
Shop here: Carmex Daily Care Lip Balm
The best part about this lip balm is that a combination of substances in the hydrating, thick composition work together to soothe and defend lips. It has ingredients like menthol and camphor, which tingle when applied to the lips and reduce pain and irritability. The balm also has lanolin, beeswax, and cocoa butter, which offer intense hydration and form a barrier to keep moisture in.
I love the consistency and feel of the balm on my lips, and its scent drives home nostalgia. They do have a very particular scent though, but I personally am a fan of it. Carmex usually retails for around 3.50 to 4 dollars.

Papaw fruit has enzymes that aid in decreasing inflammation and assisting in the breakdown of dead skin cells, hence stimulating skin rejuvenation. Furthermore, petroleum jelly and wax are included in the ointment to help lock in moisture and shield the skin from further harm.
